times union: Brews with views: Beer gardens and bars that pair well together

Arrowood’s tasting room opens up to a true working farm, complete with free-roaming White Leghorn and Buff Orpington chicks, and soon, heritage pigs that will feast upon the spent grain from the brewery and raised garden beds overflowing with vegetables and herbs in the kitchen. Four varieties of hops climb up 20-foot trellises and visitors are invited wander around the meadows and explore — or just settle into one of their picnic tables.

Arrowood’s on-site restaurant, the Apiary Kitchen + Bar, offers sophisticated beer pairings, like poutine made with hand-cut Belgian fries and local Kilcoyne beef burgers with blue cheese, black garlic aioli, bacon, and pickled green tomato
