We take it for granted that grapes are frequently grown at the same place where wine is made, but how often have you encountered a brewery that’s also a hops farm? Arrowood Farms, which opened its tasting room this spring in New York’s Hudson Valley, is the first “farm-brewery” in the state to brew and grow organic-certified hops and rye onsite.   These homegrown crops are used in their eight beer varieties, which range from Farmhouse (a pale ale) the Stout Pig (a stout), and the hops they’ll harvest soon will go into next year’s brews.
